PRE-CEREMONY
I typically recommend beginning your photo coverage around 2 hours ahead of your ceremony. This not only allows us to capture some gorgeous "getting ready" content that helps set the stage for the rest of the day; it also gives couples a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera in a more relaxed setting, so by the time your ceremony begins you'll feel like I'm just part of the furniture.
The hours before your ceremony can be a really special part of the day, full of anticipation and emotion that translates beautifully into your images, but it can also be a busy time with lots to get done and tight deadlines to stick to. My biggest priority during this portion of the day is to be as flexible as possible, fitting my work around the needs of my couples and discreetly capturing images in the background while always being on hand to offer whatever support you may require; as you can probably guess, I'm a pro at pinning on buttonholes and have fixed a fair few broken heels in my time!
Ultimately, pre-ceremony photography can be whatever you want it to be; whether you'd like every stage of your hair and makeup to be documented or just want a chance to get some candid portraits with your nearest and dearest before the madness begins, I'm here to make it happen.
first look
There was a time when seeing each other before the ceremony was unthinkable, but now more and more couples are choosing to make an occasion of taking their first glimpses of each other before tying the knot. If you have decided to buck tradition, then these photos can be some of the most intimate and emotional of the whole day; it's also a wonderful chance for couples to have a moment (almost) alone together before the party really starts.
